An oak veneered mercury wheel barometer by ‘John Simons Marratt, King William Street, London Bridge’ with finely cut hands, 10” dial, the case in a medium brown oak colour with added carving and scrolls, the thermometer scale with white backed glass with Fahrenheit & Reaumur scales. The whole in good order throughout and a good example of a Victorian barometer, measuring: 41 ½” x 12 ¾”. John Simons Marratt was working between 1832 & 1875 and at this address from 1845.
