A mahogany stick barometer with printed paper scales by Charles Howarth with fretted pediment, black strung glazed door, manually operated level indicator, exposed tube with flat inlaid oval cistern cover, inlaid with urn & flowers. The paper scales in good condition but aged. Measuring 40 ½” x 7 ½”. Charles Howarth known to be working from 1823 until his death in 1852, a prolific maker of angle barometers and stick barometers with paper plates, so circa 1835. £1650
