How to transport a Banjo Barometer

Transportation of these barometers is usually straightforward except of course for the mercury thermometer, which cannot go by air or normal carrier etc.  In a car there is little problem in taking these providing normal sensible precautions are taken in regard to packing etc.  A common fault in transit is people often lay them over on their face and the glass often has the brass knob sticking through it and any impact or pressure on this will often result in a broken glass.  These can however be replaced.
